Chung Cheng High School’s Visual Art programme has been designed to stimulate students’ aesthetic sensitivities and develop their critical thinking skills. They will be exposed to an array of artistic media and be equipped with basic knowledge and technical competency from secondary 1. They will also get to experience artistic expression through their art-making and art criticism.
Upper secondary students will also get to go on gallery and museums visits, art talks and workshops as well as attend art exhibitions and events. Through these initiatives, the department hopes to instill in students a deep appreciation for the aesthetics.
The school’s Visual Art programme also provides platforms for talented students to showcase their mastery through various art competitions that are conducted by both the school and by external organisations. A few of our more talented students have even gone on to win accolades in their respective categories at reputable competitions such as the Singapore Youth Festival (SYF).
